The best way to succeed in the NHL as a coach is to be a great communicator and to play your most skilled players...And hope your GM isn’t terrible.

Letang has a chance to also pass Larry Murphy for most playoff points by a dman in team history. I'm sensing he will.

Prediction: 5-3 pens, Rusty scores

The Dumo article is up. Great work as usual from Jesse.

Wasn't really any doubt it would be great.

Loved this paragraph in particular:

Dumoulin's game is the definition of what it means to be a shutdown defenseman in the year 2018. The days of big, hulking defenseman that can't skate and exist solely to create space in front of the net are over. The circumstances of the league require mobility and some semblance of puck handling skill if one is going to survive on the blueline. In Dumoulin, you get the perfect mix of size and enough skill to make him a good fit on a team like the Penguins.

Babcock was never worth that ridiculous contract. And the reality of that is starting to sink in for a lot of people.

The Leafs are going to need to shore up the D before they'll be considered a legit contender. I think Babcock is a good coach, but the Leafs rebuild is still not complete. Good exciting young team, but not really a contender yet.

Just watch. I've jinxed the team. Pens will lose something like 6-0 and give Philly some hope (maybe even get a new lease of life to Dave "MJ" Hakstol - TBD if thats good or bad)

Those that weren't drinking the red wings kool aid knew he was overrated long ago.

I could only hope. I’m done with Hakstol era. The subbing of Sanheim for Hagg, hoarding of his time outs, Filppula promoted to the top line (if Couturier can’t play).

Probobly not. The pens have decided to actually play some semblance of defense and the flyers are just so off of their game.

It's not even that. The Flyers are just very flat, vanilla, and are playing extremely passive, like they're terrified of overcommiting or making a mistake.

Agree with all that plus Murray is really locked in like he's rarely been this year.

Yep... Murray looks great. He hasn't been this good since before the concussion. Plus overall the team is playing great team D. I thought we were going to struggle containing Ghost and Provorov's shots. They've largely been a non-factor.

I'm surprised you didn't get my reference last thread to the arguement on here that went a few pages last year about .560 not being just under 1. It was pretty funny stuff seeing there were a few involved (a usual suspect ). Hence my rounding up of your '.2' to .5.

Is that the last we see of Simon? Didn’t see the penalty but Sully looked pissed

I'm not loving the start to this game. The Pens don't look bad, but they don't look aggressive.
